One of the most dramatic developments over the next few years will be the growth in video on web and intranet sites and on DVD.

www.multimediasupplies.co.uk provides a one stop shop - from the design, encoding, and authoring of your multimedia presentation right up to the highest quality duplication and bespoke packaging.

We offer professional video encoding from most common tape formats and cover variable bit-rate MPEG2 encoding for high-quality DVD, through to MPEG1 for VHS-quality video CD and across to streaming formats for web applications.

We take your video footage, edit and encode, design your navigation screens and menus, and bring the elements together.

Encoding

This is the process of changing media into a format that can be utilised by a computer.
Digital or analogue format video has to be encoded and compressed before transferring to CD or DVD. The device chosen to playback the compressed information must have the ability to decode this information.
Please match your preferred format to your requirements.

Web Encoding (Video Streaming) is also available via the following formats:
Apple's Quicktime, Real Network's Real Video or Microsoft's Windows Media encoding. If you are aiming at Mac users then it is advisable to work with Quicktime.
Quicktime can be used by PC's but requires a free, quick download.
Windows Media can also be supported by both Mac and PC users. Real Video is used by most PC users and is advisable if looking for PC users only.

Authoring

We can work with your video in a variety of formats.
The following is a brief list of the authoring services we offer:

Adding multiple language tracks
Subtitles
Chapter points
Menus and
Buttons

We charge £85.00 per hour or on per project basis - whichever is the cheaper.

DVD

The standard encoding system for DVD is MPEG2. This provides excellent, broadcast picture quality. MPEG2 encoding is part of the DVD authoring service available.
The first stage of this service is to provide the highest quality video encoding. Broadcast quality MPEG 2 is provided in with direct encoding from the master digital media. If required clips can be modified in prior to encoding.

60-89 mins	£18.00 per min
90-119 mins	£15.00 per min

CD ROM

The most established system used for encoding to CDROM is MPEG1. This is because it offers good quality video whilst being good value for money.

Additionally, it can be viewed on any computer system running MS Windows 95 or above. Over an hour of video time can be compressed onto a standard CDROM.

PAL/NTSC/SECAM are all formats that can be catered for. The original format can be analogue or digital and can then be transferred into Apple's Quicktime, Real Network's Real Video or Microsoft's Windows Media encoding.

Almost all encoding is completed with dedicated hardware to enable a fast turn-around and the very best quality.
